La-la-la-LIMBO

By Hieronymous Bosch
No, not that limbo.
The other one!

Yeah, that's the one.

You see, I fear I am about to experience a crushing Barbados Slim moment.  I am trying to limbo my way to a week long vacation here:

I asked the boss for vacation and he approved.  But I fear my babies may not have a sitter for 2 of the days I have to be out of town.  I have never kenneled the dogs before and I hadn't planned on it either.  So I am hoping I can limbo my way on to my vacation before the sliding door of denial slams down on me.  As you may or may not recall the extent of my experience in the snow was not really much more than a tiny bit that melted quickly.  This would be my chance to see how I fair in the real snow.  Not to mention it's a good chance to try and get some cool pictures or even try snowboarding.

If all goes well I will be on my way to Lake Tahoe and if not then I will just cancel my vacation time and save it for a rainy day.  All the same I hope the mister goes along with his family, he loves snowboarding.  While he is off snowboarding I will have these guys all to myself.

I need to start shopping for a kennel for my doggies soon.  Right now it's a bit short notice to get my dogs in because of the way the holidays and weekends fall this year.  {Translated as: Option one has yet to respond to me but it is short notice for her.  And she provides in home care.}  But I will need to find something for my trip to Hawaii so I may as well start my research now.  This way I have time to plan, introduce the little babies to a new place and meet the caretakers.  It would break my heart to leave my dogs with a kennel that is not a caring one.  I would much prefer having the dogs at home and having a sitter come by to play with them.   I don't have human babies; these little boogers ARE my babies.  I want to do what is best for them for when I travel and they can't come with.

    1. How did she do with your absence?
I my absence my dogs did miss me. And for some reason this post is broken, my Intense Debate stuff is not enabled on this post. I just posted a test and it was there. Go figure!

  3. That's tough, yeah...I've always had a bad association with the word 'kennel.' Some people seem to be able to liken it to a dog hotel, but....well you know I really have no idea what an actual kennel is like. But the association remains.

Good luck! And Happy New Year!:D

    1. It is so not a dog hotel. It's more like a supervised cage. My sister was able to watch my babies in my absence. Though they missed us, they were at least at home with familiar smells and with someone they know.

  4. Those eyes... poodles are hard to be around, but the chihuahua is special, not just because of Bow Wow Wow.

    1. During my vacation my sister would send me text messages of my dogs. And their eyes, they melt your soul! In my case they made me feel guilty for leaving they looked so sad!
